I am a 'you get what you pay for' kind of person, and even though the filters seem expensive, the design of the head unit and filter are robust and durable. Myself and the plumber who installed the unit appreciate the high quality and user friendly design.

The Aqua-Pure AP810 is the original 3M PRODUCT and is more efficient and effective than any other filter we have tried. Other 3rd party filters usually fail within 3-4 weeks. The Aqua-Pure typically will last for 12-14 weeks before we need to change. Our well water is very high in iron content and without the Aqua-Pure AP810 our water turns everything orange. We are very thankful for the 3M original product.
We have had the whole house system for over 10 years. You can really taste the difference in the water when we change the filters. Not only that, but skin feels softer too.

I was unable to unscrew the housing even with the plastic wrench provided. I was afraid that the housing would break and I would need to call an emergency plumber. So I may need to schedule with a plumber to attempt to replace the filter.
I've been using 2 AP117 filters for five years as a whole house filtration filter and they work well in reducing sediment and greatly improving the taste of our water. I also used for 15 years in a previous house as an under the kitchen sink filter with the same great results.
