Description
The 3M™ SGP124BN-T espresso filtration system is a single cartridge water filtration system which provides consistent high quality water for espresso and espresso based coffee shop drinks.
Part of the ScaleGard Pro Series of products, the SGP124BN-T is designed to reduce hardness from water to help reduce scale, but also feature built-in nonadjustable blend mechanisms to allow some hardness to remain in the product water, deemed important for flavor of the espresso.
With a flow rate of up to 0.5 gpm, the SGP124BN-T features a high capacity, weak acid ion-exchange resin to reduce calcium and magnesium residues and help prevent hard scale from forming on heating coils and boilers. Scale buildup results in energy inefficiency, restaurant downtime, and expensive service calls.
This food services filtration system also reduces total dissolved solids (TDS) and water alkalinity, which can negatively impact the taste of coffee beverages. The filter uses premium activated carbon to reduce chlorine taste and odor, and the bitterness associated with poor water quality. With a built-in bypass, 75% of the inlet water passes through the media.
